DRHS Swim and Dive participated in the Craig Cummins Invitational on October 20, 2018 at Skyline Pool. Both teams had fast swims and great drops.
The boys 200 medley relay (Walker, Tankersley, Smith, Ray) and 200 free relay (Tankersley, Ray, Smith, Walker) placed 2nd overall. Essias Smith placed 3rd in the 200 free, and broke the varsity record with a 1:46.91. Essias also took 2nd in the 100 butterfly. Luke Walker placed 1st overall, and broke his varsity record in the 200 IM, with a 1:57.61, and took 2nd in the 100 back. Rhett McCleve had a 22 second drop in his 200 free!
The girls medley relay (Wolfe, Grant, Harr, Patters) placed 1st and are closing in on the varsity team record. Karina Harr had a strong 200 IM with a 2nd place finish. Halee Merrill dropped over 6 seconds in the 200 free. Kaeli Mabb had over a 10 second drop in her 200 free. Anissa Baca had a drop of over 7 seconds in her 100 fly. Jaidyn Wolfe placed 3rd in the 100 free and 2nd in the 100 breast. Alexandra O’Brien made her state cut in the 500 free, way to go Alexandra!! Annika Hoglund’s 500 free time was fast enough for her 2nd varsity cut, making her an official varsity team member. Annika also had a personal best in the 100 breast. Good job Annika! Alyssa Hoglund had a nice showing and dropped over 3 seconds in the 100 back.
