February 7 was one of the designated dates for National Letter of Intent Signing for High School Athletes, and Desert Ridge had six Football Student-Athletes sign. Athletic Director Jim Lavin emceed the signing program, and Desert Ridge Head Football Coach, Jeremy Hathcock, assisted by commenting on each player and what they have meant to the program. Each Student-Athlete also spoke about why they chose the school that they did, as well as what their major is going to be. Signees concluded by telling the audience what their favorite memory was of playing at Desert Ridge, and finished by thanking their family and friends. Signing today were –
Caden Bethel – Rocky Mountain College
Christian Medeiros – University of Sioux Falls
Ty Miller – Arizona Christian University
Cooper Stauss – Rocky Mountain College
Bobby Tomerlin – Ottawa University
Donjae Logan, signed with Stanford during the early signing period, but still took part in today’s ceremony with his teammates.
Two other Student-Athletes – Apolo Berrouet, and Ethan Winfield took part in the signing ceremony, however they remain undecided, but will likely sign somewhere soon.
These Student-Athletes have worked extremely hard to achieve this goal of getting an athletic scholarship to pay for their continuing education. Desert Ridge High School is extremely proud of these young men, and wish them nothing but the best of luck as they go on to the next level.
